About the Project
"Reimagining the City" is a series of events that will share the results of the intensive workshop "City Sonic Vilnius / Spring Sound Camp" held on March 6-10, inspired by the diversity of the acoustic landscape of Vilnius. Sound and audiovisual artists from Lithuania together with Belgian and French artists who are coordinating the creative process will participate in these workshops.
The series of events "Reimagining the City" in the spaces of "Kompresorinė" culture centre will invite you to hear and see the city in a new way - though the visual and sound art exhibition (March 11 - 18) and performances (March 11, 12, 18) by the participants of the workshops, coordinators and guest artists.
March 16, at 19:00 we invite you to an ambisonic sound session, where you will hear the works of three participants of the "Reimagining the City" exhibition:
Tommy Lawson (France) - "König" Electronic piece composed initially for the An Donham virtual reality device by Gaëtan Le Coarer (based on an Irish legend).
Roberto Becerra, Manuel Velazquez (Mexico) and Egle Murauskaite (Lithuania) - "War Data" Electro acoustic spatial piece made mostly of samples, composed for the 1st anniversary of the war in Ukraine.
Kotryna Kvedarytė (Lithuania) - "Ringing for calmness" The city hums with its own rhythm, sometimes increasing and sometimes decreasing. The sound of Vilnius bells and the Vilnelė river resonate in the field recordings. These sounds for calm, pause and reflection.

The "Reimagining the City" exhibition can be visited from March 11. - opening at 19:00; Weekdays from Tuesday to Friday (9:00 - 17:00); March 18 on Saturday from 11:00 until the closing evening of "Reimagining the City";
